I love the technique you used for the hair it's between realistic and cartoony and works perfectly with the style.
Also the proportions are great, I would love to see this character in some context, or doing something along with some friends or family. The look in his eyes make him look very mischievous and smart though his expresion looks almost naive
The colors look great although the lights makes him look plastic like and I'm not very sure about the rebound color you used in the bottom.
